About Dermatome Database
Our skin is home to millions of bacteria, fungi and viruses that composes the skin microbiota.
Skin microorganisms have adapted to utilize the sparse nutrients available on the skin. The
skin microbiome is inhabited by many of the bacterial species. Dermatome Database is a
database to provide the scientific community with comprehensive curated information on the
bacterial species present in the human skin microbiota. In Dermatome Database we have
compiled the information of different skin microbiome diseases (Acne, Psoriasis, Atopic
Dermatitis, Rosacea, leprosy and Eczema). Dermatome Database is the first database of this
kind i.e. to provide the inclusive curated information about the species present in the human
skin microbiota.
I anticipate this database to serve as a unified information portal for researchers working on
skin microbiome diseases.
